SPECIAL REPORT: $ABWN Airborne Wireless Network to Revolutionize Global Highspeed Internet With Its Infinitus Super Highway

  • Investors await results from next FAA plane test early this year
  • Goals to up-list to NASDAQ markets
  • As seen advertised on CNBC and FOX Business
  • Partnerships with large NYSE companies
  • Hold 2 major patents

Airborne Wireless Network (OTCQB: ABWN) which trades around $2 a share, is in the process of creating a high-speed broadband airborne wireless network by linking commercial aircraft in flight. Each aircraft participating in the network will act as an airborne repeater or router sending and receiving broadband signals from one aircraft to the next creating a digital superhighway in the sky. ABWN intends is to be a high-speed broadband internet pipeline to improve coverage connectivity where lacking. ABWN does not intend to provide retail customer coverage to end users, but, instead, will act as a wholesale carrier to target customers such as Internet service providers and telephone companies. Currently, the world’s connectivity is achieved by use of undersea cables, ground based fiber and satellites. ABWN believes that Airborne Wireless Network’s airborne digital highway is the logical solution to fill the world’s connectivity void. Once the network is developed and fully implemented, its uses are limitless. Airborne Wireless Network, once developed, should provide low cost, high speed connectivity to rural areas, island nations, ships at sea, oil platforms, in addition to connectivity to commercial and private aircraft in flight. Airborne Wireless Network is called Infinitus Super Highway.

Testing and Upcoming Testing

In May 2017, ABWN conducted their first airborne test of Infinitus, using two Boeing 767 aircraft and a temporary mobile mast system to emulate a ground station (“ Proof of Concept flight test ”). During the Proof of Concept flight test, Federal Aviation Administration (“ FAA ”) and electromagnetic field interference tests were completed successfully. The Proof of Concept flight test also successfully demonstrated, on a micro scale, the ability of aircraft equipped with Infinitus to act as airborne repeaters or routers to send and receive broadband signals from one aircraft to another. The tests also successfully demonstrated aircraft-to-ground communication; ground-to-aircraft communication; and aircraft-to-aircraft-to-ground-and-back communication.

The next step is to conduct a two-plane test utilizing two Cessnas (or equivalent planes) installed with Infinitus technology incorporating the laser underlying the Company’s patent application filed on July 25, 2017 which seeks exclusive rights to our method of synchronizing laser links between aircraft in flight. The intent of this test (the “ Cessna proof of test ”) is to interrupt the laser link as often as practical. The test is being designed to prove that “self-synchronizing” and “self-restoring” airborne laser-links are feasible and practical. If successful, they would be able to complete hardware and software development in order to launch Infinitus.

The Technology

They are an early stage company with the principal business strategy of developing, marketing and licensing a fully meshed, high-speed broadband airborne wireless network by linking aircraft in flight. They call this network the “Infinitus Super Highway.” To their knowledge, no fully meshed commercial broadband airborne network exists in the world today.

They expect that Infinitus will provide a broadband wireless communication infrastructure by using and modifying existing, small, lightweight, low-power relay station equipment and antennae that will be installed onboard aircraft. Each equipped aircraft would have a broadband wireless communication link to one or more neighboring aircraft and/or ground stations. These aircraft would form a chain of seamless airborne repeaters or routers providing broadband wireless communication gateways along the entire flight path, essentially creating a digital superhighway in the sky. If a link was interrupted, the signal would be redirected to the next participating aircraft or ground station in the chain — in other words, there would be multiple, simultaneous data connections and thus the system would not rely on a single link.

For example: Just like your mobile phone has the technology where it can switch from Wifi to Data Tower when it senses poor reception, ABWN’s dual technology will have the ability to switch from lightning fast laser technology to high speed radio frequency. This is essential for when a plane is flying in bad weather, turbulence, and adjusting altitudes.

The laser technology: Comes from a partnered company Mynaric (previously Vialight)

Laser communication utilizes laser light to transmit data for point-to-point communication scenarios on the ground, in air or even space. It offers ultra high data rate communication across vast distances while being highly power efficient and secure at the same time.

  • Ultra long distance communication
  • High bandwidth inaccessible to competing technologies
  • Almost 100% secure (jamming, interception) and stealth due to narrow beam divergence
  • Unregulated use, no usage restrictions, no ITU
  • Safe technology that cannot harm humans or animals with minimal precautions

SPEED: Laser communication allows bandwidths inacessible to other wireless long distance communication technologies. Mynaric’s current systems allow up to 10 Gbps and multiple Tbps may be possible in the future.

SAFETY: Mynaric’s systems operate at a wavelength of around 1550nm, where the human eye is not transparent and use laser beams with many centimeters in diameter that only have minimal power density. These and other aspects ensure that Mynaric’s systems are operationally safe to be used and cannot harm humans or animals with just minimal precautions.

LONG DISTANCE: The maximum achievable distance depends on the atmospheric conditions and becomes larger with higher altitude. Mynaric’s systems achieve up to 600km in the stratosphere and some 4,000km in space.

The Patents

The company was founded off the purchase of a patent designed and obtained by a forward-thinking entrepreneur back in 2001.  ABWN acquired the patent in 2016 and intends to fully develop this technology and complete the creation of its Wholesale Carrier Network, taking advantage of recent advancements in wireless radio technology that would significantly simplify the implementation of the network. With the additional need of faster and an alternative tech, ABWN found “laser tech” and quickly filed for a 2nd patent…

On August 3, 2017… ABWN announced that Marius de Mos, the Companys Vice President of Technical Affairs and Development, as inventor, has filed with the USTPO on July 25, 2017, a new non-provisional patent application, number 15/658,761. The patent describes a “method of synchronizing laser-links between aircraft”.   The Company will be using this method as a road-map to attempt to exponentially increase data transfer speeds for the Company’s contemplated Infinitus Super Highway.  Marius de Mos has agreed to assign the patent to the Company for a symbolic $1.

Their intellectual property consists of (i) U.S. patent No. 6,285,878 B1, which is for a new use for the already existing fleets of commercial aircraft designed to replace low orbit communication satellites, and (ii) an application for the trademark “Infinitus Super Highway,” which is pending at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (U.S. Serial No. 87670983). The expiration date for their patent is September 4, 2018. The patent gives them the exclusive right in the United States and countries honoring United States patents to create a high-speed broadband wireless network by linking commercial aircraft in flight. They also filed a patent application in the United States on July 25, 2017 seeking exclusive rights to their method of synchronizing laser links between aircraft in flight, which they believe, if obtained, will be instrumental in making Infinitus operate successfully. Currently, this patent application is undergoing prioritized examination at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and we are continuing to prosecute this patent application in order to get the patent granted as soon as possible. They also expect to seek exclusive rights for this method under an international PCT application.

The Competition: The Race

There are a number of possibly competing systems that rely on launching large numbers of small satellites. Potential competitors include, but are not limited to:

  • Inmarsat PLC and its satellites. Inmarsat is a leader in the providing of satellite-based communication services to the maritime industry;

Traditional communications and broadcast satellites. Currently, traditional satellites (despite their many disadvantages and huge environmental impact), are the major solution provider to solving the world’s ever-growing need for communications and connectivity;

  • Facebook, Inc., which is attempting to create a network in the sky utilizing drones with wingspans the size of Boeing 737/757 aircraft; and
  • Google, Inc., which is attempting to create a network in the sky utilizing drones or balloons.

To their knowledge, the closest approach to Infinitus is Facebook’s proposed use of drones to provide network coverage. This approach resembles Infinitus, with two major differences. First, they believe that the use of large, unmanned drones (with wingspans the size of a Boeing 737/757 aircraft) flying overhead, solely depending on solar power, may not to be the safest method for providing this service. Second, ABWN has a U.S. patent, which is recognized by many of the world’s nations, and protects Infinitus from competitors seeking to utilize our technology, although this patent expires during 2018. However, they also filed an additional patent application on July 25, 2017 seeking exclusive rights to our method of synchronizing laser links between aircraft in flight, which they believe, if obtained, will be instrumental in making Infinitus operate successfully. Currently, this patent application is undergoing prioritized examination at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and they are continuing to prosecute this patent application in order to get the patent granted as soon as possible. They do not believe that their competitors own similar patents in those countries that recognize U.S. patents, nor do they have a license to use the technology covered by our patent and patent application.

Investment Summary

The amount of great information pulled from past filings is amazing. The company has already sunk nearly $40 million to date into research and development and are not playing games. Although still in the early stages, the time, patents, money, and energy put in so far, combined with major partnerships already put in place, position them to lead the race to this disruptive technology. Companies like Google, Facebook, Verizon, AT&T will all be knocking on their door soon enough if future testing proves the technology works. This testing is ANYTIME. The only thing holding them back from NASDAQ is the price per share benchmark of $3 or $4 dollars which can easily be achieved with positive testing results, or worse case scenario 1:2 reverse split. Once big board investors, fund managers and the company become marginable, it’s off to the races! Not only do I see ABWN as a possible BUYOUT candidate from a larger household name company, but a company worth billions of dollars as an internet wholesaler. The world needs a faster more reliable technology as the current infrastructure will no longer be able to handle the growing trend of streaming data and blockchain technology.
